10 Months Old

You are seriously the most sweet natured baby ever! I can hardly believe how easy going and happy you are. Always so happy! When something happens to you like you bump you head or have a hard time doing something I always expect you to start crying, but most of the time you don't. You are just so content in life.At 10 months you are just starting to crawl on your hands and knees. You started "army crawling" at about six months and have been hesitant to go on your hands and knees because your way of crawling got you to where you needed to be. You are pulling yourself up on furniture and walking along it. Whenever Daddy and I try to get you to walk you just laugh so hard that you can't do it. Another thing that makes you laugh is Carson. You adore him and laugh at him all of the time...it is so cute to watch. You are still not sleeping through the night. You love to snuggle up next to mommy at night and throw a fit when you don't get your way. You are starting to go to other people better, but for the longest time the only people you would let hold you were Mommy & Daddy. You are saying a few words now like "Mama" and "yeah". You've got "Mama" down very well and yell it at me a lot. You are eating a lot of foods now and prefer to eat what the rest of the family is having. You act as if you are offended if I offer you baby food instead of whats on the table.

You are starting to use your hands a lot to motion for what you want. One way you do this is when you want to go play downstairs with your brothers. You will put your hand up in the air towards the basement door and start clenching your fist...as if you were trying to bring the door closer to you. There are a few things you love to do when we are in the basement, and one of those things is to crawl over to the train tracks Jonas builds and tear them up. This has caused him to sit on you several times so he can defend his hard work. You also love to crawl over to the magnet board, pull yourself up, and then start to pull all of the magnets off and throw them around the room while you squeal with delight. When ever you see that you can escape, you will crawl across the basement and start heading up the stairs. One time you made it half way up to the top before Daddy realized you were missing. It makes you feel empowered that you can climb the stairs, but it makes Mommy a little nervous that you are always trying to do it unsupervised!

Mason, we all love you so much and are so thankful that you came to be in our family. You truly are our happy go lucky boy and we needed that in our home. Keep growing stronger and stronger each day!

Six Months

Weight: 17 pounds

At the beginning of June we spent a week up in Idaho at Grandma's house. One of your favorite things to do while we were there was to take a bath in Grandma's sink. You absolute LOVE water and baths. You kick your legs to watch the water splash and squeal with delight. It is so fun to watch you get such joy out of something so simple. On June 2nd your second bottom tooth popped through and I think you were so relieved to finally have it.
We were able to go see a lot of our family while we were visiting and everyone was so excited to see you. This is only your second trip to Idaho and so many people haven't gotten to spend a lot of time with you. We went and visited Grandpa Birch and you had fun playing with a balloon he had.You are loving exploring outside. You love different textures. Here you are with Daddy touching the Arctic willows up front. You were squealing with delight at your new discovery. See that hat on your head? You are still so bald that I have to make sure you have a hat on when we are out so your little head doesn't get sunburned. You are starting to turn yourself around while you are on the floor and it won't be too much longer before you are crawling

You love Carson so much and giggle at him all of the time. You are getting more used to Jonas and let him come around you more often.

5 Months and a New Tooth

Here are some professional pictures that were taken of you just before you turned 5 months old. They were done at Carson's preschool. It was so hard for Mommy to choose her favorites of you because you looked so handsome in all of them.At five months you love to be carried around. I spend most of my day with you in my arms. You love to face forward so you can see where you are going. I have tried to use different baby carriers with you, but you just cry and insist that I hold you. We have been spending a lot of time outside lately and you love to be outside and looking at everything around you. You are still loving floor time. You love to be on your belly and have a toy in front of you. I love to see you impatiently (or excitedly) kick your legs against the floor. You are wanting to try to figure out how to crawl.

You have been teething and a little cranky lately. On May 21st your first bottom left incisor cut through...and the one next to it was big and swollen. Teething has been pretty rough on you! Usually you are so low maitenence, but all you have wanted lately was for me to hold you. I can't blame you though, you must be in so much pain!

One last thing. I have to post about you and Jonas. You just aren't too sure you trust him yet. If you are playing on the floor and he comes too close to you, you start to whimper. Daddy and I call this your "warning alarm". Its like you are saying, "He's getting to close to me. Make sure he doesn't touch me." I think this is because Jonas is still so young and hasn't learned to be soft with you yet. After all, he is still a baby himself. Hopefully you will soon warm up to your brother and you guys can be good friends.

4 Months

Here are your 4 month stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 2 ounces
Height: 24 3/4 inches
Head Circumference: 16 1/2 inches

At four months your personality is starting to show through. You are starting to grab for toys and love to play on the floor. You are rolling over well now and like to roll to get a better view of what your brothers are up to. We started going on walks and you do very well in the stroller. Most of the time you fall asleep by the time we get back home.

You are also loving to sit in the walker. You like that you can be upright and see what is going on. You have started teething and love to have some sort of toy on the tray so you can chew on it.

You are still having a hard time sleeping in the pack n play at night. You just want to snuggle up next to Mommy to sleep. During the day it is usually easy to get you to sleep though. I will take you into my room, shut the door (to keep your brothers out!) and hum to you or sing to you while I snuggle you up next to me, pat your little bum, and rock you in the chair. Sometimes it is so hard for me to put you down because I love holding you and watching you sleep! I think if I didn't have your brothers to go play with that I would hold you the whole time you slept! I love these sweet precious moments that we get together. I look at you and think of how blessed I am to have you in my life and about how amazing you are. You truly are a precious son of our Father in Heaven and I feel so blessed that I am able to be your Mommy. I love you so much!

First Food

Tonight we attempted to feed you your first food besides breast milk. You are always hungry and so Mommy decided it was time to try some rice cereal. You weren't that impressed. In fact you screamed until I stopped feeding you the cereal and went and nursed you. Hopefully next time will go better and you can soon start to feel fuller longer!

Right now you are also teething. You have two big bumps on your bottom gums that are causing you lots of pain right now.

You have learned to roll over in the past few weeks and are really good at it! You love to roll onto your tummy and then look around at what is happening.

You are such a sweet, handsome little baby and we are loving getting to know you more each day!

Blessing

You were blessed on Sunday, February 7th, 2010. We were very excited to have almost all of our family there for the blessing. Among the things your daddy blessed you with was a love of the scriptures, a desire to go on a mission, and that you would one day find a daughter of God to take to the temple. You looked so handsome in your blessing outfit. Our family on your special day.

Mason, you have been one of the greatest surprises ever and we are so thankful that you are in our family. You have such a precious spirit and your little smiles make your mommy's days amazing!

2 Month Check Up

Stats from your two month well-baby:

Weight: 13 lbs 2 oz----80th percentile

Height: 22 inches----25th percentile

Head: 15 3/4 inches---55th percentile

You are starting to coo and smile a lot. It is so precious to see you trying to communicate with us. You are starting to sleep almost all the way throught the night and usually only wake up for one feeding. You are growing stronger all of the time and are such a joy to us!

First Christmas

Your first Christmas we stayed home and celebrated together in our new house. You got lots of nice new clothes, baby toys, and a baby book. You, Carson, and Jonas even got a nice climbing dome from Santa Claus. Here you are with your brothers on Christmas Eve.Here you are Christmas night, wearing some new pajamas you got earlier that day. It sure was a special Christmas having you as a brand new baby in our home...it made it that much sweeter.

Two Weeks

At two weeks we took you into the Pediatrician for a check-up and circumcision. You weighed 7 lbs 13 ounces and were 21 1/2 inches long. You have been a really mild mannered baby. Unlike your brothers, who started to get acid reflux at about two weeks you have been good so far. Here are some pictures of you at two weeks old.

Arrival

You arrived on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 9:54 AM...two weeks before your estimated due date.

On Sunday (November 29th) after we had gotten home from church, I began to have contractions. They were irregular so I didn't think anything of it since you were still two weeks away from your due date. That night I helped Daddy and your brothers get the Christmas tree put up, but the whole time I was in pain. I woke up at about 2 AM with my contractions coming 5 minutes apart. After they had been consistent for awhile I decided that I should get up and pack a bag for the hospital just in case. Getting up and moving around helped slow the contractions down, but they never really went away. On Monday I had a doctor's appointment and when the doctor checked me I was dialated to a one. She told me to come back in if my contractions started coming 5 minutes apart for over an hour. Since I was scheduled to have a c-section on the 7th, she told me that it was important for me to come in if I went into labor.

All of Monday I had very painful, yet irregular contractions. I knew it was only a matter of time before you got here. Monday night I had Daddy help me get all of the baby clothes washed and I got bags packed for you and I. About 9 o'clock that night I fell asleep on the couch, but it was a restless and painful sleep. I remember waking myself up several times because I was moaning in pain. Finally about 10:30 I woke up and that's when my contractions started coming 5 minutes to 7 minutes apart. Since my contractions were still varying in length I waited it out until about 3:30 in the morning before I finally woke up your Daddy and we got ready to go to the hospital.

By the time we made it to the hospital my contractions were so painful that I started crying when they came. After the nurses had examined me they said I was dialated to a 5. I am not sure why they didn't just do my c-section then, but they kept me for observation. Since both of your brothers were born via cesarean, there was no possibility for me to have had a normal birth with you. So I labored with you until about 9 AM when they took me back to the operating room. They started my cesarean at 9:30 and you were born 24 minutes later. It took them a long time to get you out because Mommy had a lot of scar tissue from her previous two cesareans. When you were born, the first thing I noticed about you were your chubby little cheeks. You were my first baby that didn't have to be rushed off and put on oxygen, so you were able to be with me the whole time I was in the OR. It was such a blessing to spend those first few moments with you! Daddy getting ready to go to the OR.

You were 6 lbs 15.5 oz and 21 inches long...our longest baby yet!

Unexpected Blessing

In May of 2009, I unexpectedly found out that we were going to be adding you to our family! I found out not only that you were on your way, but that I was already three months pregnant with you...you sure were a big surprise for us.So right before Jonas' 1st birthday, we went in for our first ultrasound with you. You were bouncing away the whole time! We found out you were due December 14th, but that they would deliver you via c-section on December 7th.

And then in July of 2009 we went in for our second ultrasound and found out we were having another little boy.

It took us a long time to figure out a name for you. Some of the names we had considered were Bently, Benson, or Carter. In October we finally decided to name you Mason Wynn. I had a dream one night that that is what we should name you and I told Daddy. We decided not to tell anyone your name until you were born.

This blog has been set up for you as a way for us to document your life. You have just arrived in our family and have many wonderful years of growing up ahead of you! You have brought so much happiness to our family and your older brothers adore you. Your sweet little spirit fills our home with so much joy and love.

We have been told by prophets that it is important to keep personal histories. It is my hope that by documenting your daily experiences that you can see the hand of our Heavenly Father in your life. It is my hope that you will one day be able to look back on this record in fondness of the wonderful memories you created growing up.
